The truth is, Banksia Hair Lounge bloomed from a place of loss.
In 2019, I tragically lost my mother, Helen, to cancer. She was the pillar of strength in my family, but also a successful business owner and hairstylist for over 40 years. Her passion for hair and empowering others through beauty deeply resonated with me from a young age. She was, and continues to be, a huge inspiration.
The honest truth? I never had a perfectly clear picture of what "finished" looked like. But over the years, my vision for the salon has blossomed alongside me. I learned to trust the process, to believe that what's meant to be will be.
This mindset has become my guiding force, shaping me through every obstacle.
And today, I can proudly say that the final picture is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.
Banksia Hair Lounge is a testament to the power of resilience, passion, and the transformative power of creating a space focused on wellness and inner beauty.

Meet emily
Emily is known for creating relaxed, sun-kissed looks, especially in creamy beige blondes, natural balayage and soft dimensional brunettes. She values building relationships and aims to ensure clients leave feeling confident and understood through her warm and tailored approach.
Beyond her work at the salon, Emily enjoys moments with her partner Nathan and their son Reubs, appreciating beach days, sunsets, good food and quality time with loved ones.

Zoe is an amazing member of our senior dream team. She fosters a warm and inviting experience for all. Having been a part of our Banksia Family for 3 years now she has earned the title of being a true blonde queen and overall, an extremely talented colourist whose attention to detail is sure to leave you with a personalized, flawless result.
Outside of the salon Zoe is a wonderful mother and partner who cherishes quality time with her family and friends, appreciating life’s simple pleasures.
Senoir Stylist
Meet Yasmin
Yaz is our second-year apprentice, specializing in a variety of salon services. Her favourite includes men's haircuts, colour applications, relaxing basin treatments and blow-dry’s/ styling. Driven by a passion for helping clients feel their best, she strives to create a welcoming experience.
Outside of work, Yaz enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, engaging in activities such as camping, visiting the beach, and exploring theme parks.

Banksia Hair Lounge has been a proud partner since the beginning.
Coming up to 10 years of being a sustainable salon. That has always been a priority alongside the changes over the years. Through our partnership, we have been able to achieve a massive impact alongside all the other wonderful salons who have chosen the pathway to a more sustainable industry.
Here are some of the many highlights of why we choose to be sustainable:
- 95% of our Salon waste is diverted from landfill, recycled and repurposed.
- All proceeds generated from recycling go to OzHarvest and Kiwi Harvest to feed the hungry.
- All cut hair collected from our salon floor is recycled into hair blooms, which are used to soak up oil in the ocean. They use this at the great barrier reef instead of chemicals. Crazy fact: Each hair bloom can soak up to 5L of oil, and can be reused which is INCREDIBLE! So thank you for your regular trims, thin outs and big chops, they do have a huge impact!!
